Total Defence Day 2011

Hi everyone,

Last week was packed with fun activities related to Total Defence Day.
Don't you agree with me?

Well, lets recap some of the events which happened last week.

We had food ration activities and everyone had a feel on what it was like eating food during war times. It was really encouraging to see that most students didn't mind eating food sold in the canteen such as plain porridge, steam corn and tapioca during recess time.

Since the theme for TDD 2011 was Home: Keeping It Together, we were fortunate to have our friendly police officers "showing off" their patrol cars and played games with our students. Our kind LTA officers too, conducted some games and shared informative posters.
Not forgetting the experience we had at the Science booth and TKPS Tunnel of Love!!
Lastly, the students were thrilled when Water Wally and Water Detective took over the stage.

Well, good things has to come to an end right?

Now let's take some time to reflect on the questions below and post the answer as a class.

1. What does HOME mean to you?

2. Does Singapore feel like a HOME to you?

3. If a HOME is a place that makes you feel safe and loved, then what are the things in
Singapore that make you feel like it is a HOME to you?

4. What must you do to ensure that Singapore is a peaceful and safe home for you and your
    family and friends?

5. In the event that Singapore’s security is under threat,

    a. How will you defend Singapore?

    b. What are the things about Singapore that you will defend?

Lastly, let's enjoy the photo and video compilation taken on TDD week. Kindly leave your comments or views below. Happy blogging.....

** Ps: Turn on your speakers :)

Enjoy....... :)

We participated in getting ready the "Be Ready Pack" for the elderly. We felt glad that we are able to help the needies. We felt "useful" that we were able to contribute to the society.

We participated in the fire drill. It was a meaningful excercise and we learnt to be ready at all times.

The canteen sold biscuits and porridge and it tasted not too bad. The school brought in a police car and we had an opportunity to explore the inside of the car which was a rare opportunity.

Singapore is our home as the police assist to keep us safe. They enjoyed the police car display and the games the officers played with them. The LTA games on road safety also drove home the message that we need to be vigilant all the time.
